EMJ.LIFE is an Institutional Evidence Systems Integrator. Evidence Infrastructure as a Service operates within the stated system context. These institutional interpretations do not replace the authority, rights or decisions of the referenced institutions.
Sector context is not an entity finding.
This is an independent EMJ.LIFE controlled external supplement. UNEP Finance Initiative materials remain external institutional sources. Use of this supplement does not imply UNEP FI review, approval, endorsement, certification, partnership or recognition.
This presentation summarises existing STMT04 v1.1 controls. “Sector Prior” and “Inference Boundary” are EMJ.LIFE analytical interpretations, not UNEP FI terminology. It introduces no new substantive doctrine.
1. Sector prior boundary
A Sector Impact Matrix association is a sector-level prior. It may support discovery, screening, context, provenance, evidence issue formation. It must not by itself establish entity impact, materiality, contribution, causation, rating, verified severity, public claim.
2. Entity evidence requirement
Any entity-level interpretation requires evidence specific to entity / activity, boundary, time, geography, value-chain position, relevant affected party / context, source provenance. Sector association alone is insufficient.
3. Adaptation finance boundary
UNEP FI adaptation-finance materials may support sector prioritisation, climate-risk assessment workflow, taxonomy criteria review, DNSH / maladaptation screening, evidence readiness. They must not automatically determine eligibility, alignment, financing approval, underwriting, taxonomy determination.
4. Sustainability risk boundary
UNEP FI sustainability-risk materials may support risk terminology, risk-driver context, governance design reference, implementation context, monitoring architecture. They must not automatically determine institution-specific materiality, risk appetite, KRI thresholds, credit treatment, capital treatment, provisioning, rating, financing decision.
5. Decision authority
Final determinations remain with the legally or institutionally authorised actor. External methodology provides context; it does not transfer decision authority.
Inference boundary presentation
EMJ.LIFE analytical interpretation of the existing controlled supplement. Additional evidence supports review; it does not itself authorise the final determination.
| External context | Additional entity evidence required | Institutional determination |
|---|---|---|
| Sector association | Entity / activity / context evidence | Entity impact assessment |
| Climate hazard | Exposure / vulnerability / time-horizon evidence | CRVA conclusion |
| Taxonomy candidate | Criteria / DNSH / safeguard evidence | Eligibility / alignment determination |
| Risk driver | Institution-specific materiality and governance | Risk appetite / credit / capital decision |
